Wow, what an amazing experience this week! On vacation at Lake Cayuga, NY, we visited as many wineries as possible. By far, my three favorites are Quarry Ridge Winery, Thirsty Owl Wine Company, and Hosmer Winery.
Quarry Ridge Winery
The folks at Quarry Ridge have an inspiring back story. Although they are a young vineyard, they are doing an incredible job. Their dedication is not only evident in the quality of their wine but also in their appreciation of their customers. Bravo to Quarry Ridge for their passion and hospitality!
Hosmer Winery
The next day was very warm but thoroughly enjoyable at Hosmer Winery. They were creating some delicious slushies that were perfect for the weather. The live music under the tent added to the wonderful ambiance, making it a delightful afternoon for everyone.
Thirsty Owl Wine Company
We were fortunate enough to take a pontoon boat to visit Thirsty Owl Wine Company. It was a leisurely trip down the lake on a gorgeous day. The wine tasting was incredible, and Tristin, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable. We selected our favorite wines and then enjoyed a fantastic lunch on the patio overlooking the vineyard. Afterward, we took a golf cart ride back down to the boat and had a relaxing ride around the lake, which is beautiful and much larger than we initially thought.
Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge
Although not a winery or vineyard, the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge in nearby Seneca Falls is a definite must-see. It offers a different kind of beauty and serenity that complements the wine-tasting experience.
